About this book

The advancement of personalized medicine in the digital era has undergone a significant transformation, progressing from medical achievements in the 19th century to the present-day incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology in healthcare. This period is defined by the crucial role of the digital revolution in promoting personalised medicine, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence to customise patient treatment. It also involves resolving ethical concerns and anticipating future progress. The healthcare industry is changing quickly due to digital technologies, including telemedicine, wearable devices, and genomics. The objective is to address the increasing prevalence of chronic illnesses by improving accessibility, effectiveness, and patient-centered strategies. The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the healthcare industry by introducing advanced technologies such as wearable devices, intelligent implants, and environmental sensors. These solutions are designed to enhance the treatment and monitoring of medical problems such as diabetes, heart failure, and COPD. The progress highlights the potential of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) to revolutionise healthcare provision. Big data is becoming more critical in healthcare, industry, and intelligent technology. It can improve patient outcomes, streamline operations, and solve ethical problems. Simultaneously, the increase in telehealth and mobile health apps indicates a transition towards care models that are more easily accessible, efficient, and patient-centered. These models are further strengthened by artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) to improve diagnosis, treatment, and data security. To ensure the long-term viability of healthcare in the era of digital technology, it is crucial to adopt a well-rounded strategy that encompasses innovation, safeguarding data privacy, and enhancing cybersecurity. This approach will help cultivate an environment of trust and transparency. The convergence of IoT, big data, and AI enables a linked and tailored healthcare strategy. This strategy prioritises using digital technologies to empower patients by focusing on precision medicine and preventative healthcare. Amidst pandemics and other situations, digital technology is paramount in public health. They assist in the timely identification and surveillance of diseases, as well as in the efficient distribution of vaccines and the formulation of appropriate policy responses. This underscores the significance of tailored therapy in tackling worldwide health obstacles. The proliferation of interconnected healthcare equipment, such as intelligent inhalers, medication capsules, and wearable technology, clearly illustrates the continuous transition towards digital monitoring and management of personal well-being. This transition can create a future where people have more control and influence over their healthcare and where care delivery is completely transformed.
